Ukraine’s Corruption Scandal Raises Suspicion From Western Financial Allies

The White House declared that rigorous oversight will be implemented for the billions sent to aid Ukraine after a controversial corruption scandal that caused a series of resignations in Zelensky’s cabinet.  Five regional governors, four deputy ministers and two heads of a government agency left their posts following the Ukrainian anti-corruption police arrested the deputy infrastructure minister on suspicions of receiving a 367,000 euro bribe.  Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said the resignations “preserve the confidence of society and international partners.”
