Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said that President Biden would veto GOP House Bill H.R. 21 called the Strategic Production Response Act, which would limit his ability to draw from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) if it passes Congress. The bill also calls for an increase in domestic oil and gas production. Since November 2021, Biden has repeatedly drawn from the SPR to combat gas prices while at the same time engaging in what Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) called “the Biden administration’s war on oil and gas production in the United States.” The SPR last month reached its lowest level since 1983.
