Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC), assistant House Democratic leader and influential ally of the Biden White House, said that he fully supports a Biden reelection in 2024. Clyburn said, “I think he’s demonstrated, in these two years … that he is deserving of re-election.” In contrast, Fox News reports that Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) said of the controversy surrounding the Biden classified documents discovered, “There’s an element to this that feels like the Democrats are taking out Joe Biden…just as Joe Biden is hardening the cement around his decision to run for president again, they start looking for what classified documents might have been tucked away eight years ago.”
