While attending the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska delivered a personal letter from her husband to the Chinese Communist Party delegation intended for Chinese dictator Xi Jinping. Zelenska is representing her country at the gathering and urging attendees to donate money and weapons to the ongoing efforts in Kyiv against Russia. Ukrainian President Zelensky gave an address via video to Davos, demanding financial and diplomatic support. Although China is one of Russia’s closest allies, Zelenska said of the letter, “It was a gesture and invitation to dialogue and I hope very much that there will be a response to this invitation.”
