President Biden has refused to answer questions regarding classified documents from his time as vice president found at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement, a think tank where Biden maintained offices from mid-2017 until his 2020 presidential campaign. The documents found on November 2 by Biden’s personal attorneys were reported and handed over to the National Archives. The incident is reminiscent of the FBI raid on President Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago last year. At the time Biden said of Trump, “How that could possibly happen? How anyone could be that irresponsible?” Attorney General Merrick Garland has assigned Trump-appointee John Lausch, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, to be in charge of reviewing the records.
