Nearly 4 Million Pakistani Children Experience Crisis After Flood Water Remains

Four months after monsoon rains struck Pakistan, the safety of approximately 4 million children is threatened due to the presence of remaining contaminated pools of water, according to United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).  UNICEF’s current request of $173.5 million to extend relief to Pakistan has only reached 37 percent so far.  “Severe acute malnutrition, respiratory and water-borne diseases coupled with the cold are putting millions of young lives at risk, ” UNICEF representative Abdullah Fadil stated.
