Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced he will continue partnership with BlackRock, the world’s largest investment management company, to rebuild war-torn Ukraine. He also announced Ukraine’s participation in the the upcoming January 16-20 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. Plans for the postwar restoration were discussed in a virtual meeting between BlackRock CEO Larry Fink and Zelenskyy. Both BlackRock and the WEF are highly controversial groups, known for their endorsement of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. Additionally, much criticism surrounds the WEF’s message that seems to support abolition of private property and personal privacy.
