Some Russian lawmakers are calling for the punishment of military commanders following the death of 63 Russian soldiers who were killed in a Ukrainian strike on Russian-held Donetsk New Year’s Eve. The soldiers were housed in temporary shelters next to a storage facility which critics say was an obvious target. Rebekah Koffler, a former DIA intelligence officer and the author of “Putin’s Playbook: Russia’s Secret Plan to Defeat America,” said, “The Russian people are justifiably angry at the commanders and Moscow leaders as their young men and boys are dying by the thousands in this war.”
