German Foreign Intelligence (BND) has arrested one of its own employees on suspicion of passing information to Russia.  Carsten L (last name withheld due to privacy laws) was arrested in Berlin and is being held on suspicion of treason.  BND Chief Bruno Kahl  said that releasing further details about the case could benefit Moscow. “With Russia, we are dealing with an actor on the opposite side whose unscrupulousness and willingness to use violence we must reckon with,” Mr. Kahl said, adding, “Every detail of this operation that becomes public means an advantage for this adversary in its intention to harm Germany.”
