With just minutes to go before the deadline, Benjamin Netanyahu phoned Israeli President Isaac Herzog to inform him that a coalition government had been formed. The news was met with mixed reactions from interviewed residents of Jerusalem, with some hopeful and some wanting the right-wing coalition to collapse. Netanyahu faces external pressure as well.  The UN has recently passed a bevy of anti-Israel resolutions, while the Biden Administration clearly favored the outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid and warned Netanyahu against including Itamar Ben-Gvir, the new National Security Minister, in the government.
