House GOP Releases Report On January 6 Security Failures

Objectivity 4.8 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.8

In a counter-point to the January 6th Committee final report, 5 House GOP members who were rejected for the select committee have released their own report detailing the security failures at the Capitol which “the Democrat-led investigation has thus far ignored.” Among the findings were that Nancy Pelosi exerted undue influence on former House Sergeant At Arms Paul Irving in his decision making and changes to U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) protocols rendered the USCP “ineffective.” The report also emphasizes how Democratic leaders were overly concerned with “optics” rather than security in the delayed deployment of the National Guard. The lawmakers who authored the report hope that it will steer reform in security for the Capital.
