China Offers Mediation To End Russia-Ukraine War

Objectivity 4.8 | Credibility 4.6 | Relevance 4.7

Chinese President Xi Jinping has offered to mediate an end to Russia’s war with Ukraine. The offer came during a visit from Dmitry Medvedev, chairman of United Russia and a staunch ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, to Beijing where he was met by Xi. The two held talks centered around their countries’ ongoing “no limits” cooperation alliance. Medvedev spoke of greater cooperation in trade, energy and agriculture.  Xi’s remarks were more vague, saying the two countries should “jointly promote global governance in a more just and reasonable direction.”
