The U.S. and South Korea held a joint air exercise comprised of American B-52 nuclear capable bombers and F-22 Raptor stealth fighters alongside South Korean F-35 and F-15 fighters. The exercise is an apparent response to North Korea’s continued testing of intercontinental missiles as well as the recent test launch for a spy satellite. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, has been publicly critical of analysts who have assessed that North Korea’s missile technology is not as advanced as the country claims. She said, “I think it’s better for them to stop talking nonsense, behave carefully and think twice.”
