The U.S. Department of Homeland Security said more migrants may cross the border to seek asylum when the Title 42 public health order, enacted by former President Donald Trump, ends next week. The department didn’t mention how many migrants may be released into the country when the order is lifted. U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) said Customs and Border Protection officials told him on Wednesday that around 50,000 migrants could be waiting to cross into the country once the order ends.
