Lawmakers have introduced legislation to ban the use of TikTok in the United States as security concerns have steadily risen regarding the use of the Chinese-owned app in the country.  The Senate bill would block and prohibit all transactions in all property and interests in property of a social media company that is based in or organized under the laws of a country of concern.  “The bipartisan ANTI-SOCIAL CCP Act is a strong step in protecting our nation from the nefarious digital surveillance and influence operations of totalitarian regimes” Democratic Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi of Illinois said about a similar bill introduced in the House.
