Peruvian President Dina Boluarte announced she will send a proposal to Peru’s Congress to move up the elections as protestors are demanding her resignation. Boluarte was recently installed as president following the impeachment and arrest of Pedro Castillo. The protestors want to have elections not only for president, but for all members of Congress, and some have even called for the release of Castillo. Two protestors have been killed and over 20 have been injured in clashes with police. Boluarte declared a state of emergency outside of the capital of Lima.
