UN Requests 51.5 Billion for 2023 Humanitarian Aid Funds

The United Nations and its allies are requesting a record-breaking $51.5 billion for 2023.  “Humanitarian needs are shockingly high, as this year’s extreme events are spilling into 2023″ UN Emergency Relief Coordinator Martin Griffiths told reporters in Geneva.  The UN Global Humanitarian Overview expects an additional 65 million people will need help in the upcoming year, totaling 339 million in 68 countries.
