The EU threatened Elon Musk with banning Twitter from Europe unless the social media platform follows European content moderation guidelines. EU commissioner Thierry Breton said Musk has to stop arbitrarily reinstating banned users and must aggressively fight the so-called disinformation. The EU is also demanding that Twitter commit to an audit by the summer of next year. The measures seem to be in response to Musk’s stance as a “free speech absolutist.”
