Disney’s newest movie “Strange World” underperformed at the box office and is on track to lose $100 million.  Disney projected earnings at nearly $40 million for the film’s opening weekend; however, the project only brought in $18.9 million.  It is speculated that executives expected the film to fail after pre-release backlash over the overtly gay teen character.  Twitter account @Saberspark posted: “My theory: the execs want this film to go under the radar.”
