Rail union workers are considering a strike over prospective contracts being discussed by their leaders regarding freight rail companies.  “This can all be settled through negotiations and without a strike,” president of the Transportation Division of the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and Transportation Workers, or SMART-TD, Jeremy Ferguson said.  Union leaders stated they are prepared to negotiate again.  If even one of the 12 unions strikes, all unions will honor it and bring the whole system to a standstill.
