North Korea on Friday launched an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) that landed in Japanese waters west of its island of Hokkaido. Japan’s Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada said that the missile had the potential to strike the entire U.S. mainland. Vice President Kamala Harris condemned North Korea’s provocation at a regional forum in Bangkok. “We again call for North Korea to stop further unlawful, destabilizing acts. On behalf of the United States, I reaffirm our ironclad commitment to our Indo-Pacific alliances” Harris said.
