New York State Immobilized Due to Lake-Effect Weather

Parts of New York have been paralyzed due to a weather phenomenon called “lake-effect” causing nearly two feet of snow to fall overnight.  New York Governor Kathy Hochul has declared a “state of emergency” in 11 counties so far.  Approximately 4.5 feet of snow (1.4m) may expand to or near Buffalo, according to the National Weather Service.
