FBI Director Christopher Wray told lawmakers on Thursday that the FBI is “concerned” by reports of Chinese secret “police stations” being set up in the U.S. In September, Safeguard Defenders, a human rights NGO, issued a report that disclosed the existence of these stations around the globe, including in New York. “To me, it is outrageous to think that the Chinese police would attempt to set up shop, you know, in New York, let’s say, without proper coordination,” Wray said.
