According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Nicole is currently pounding the Bahamas and expected to hit Florida tonight as a Category 1 hurricane. “Some strengthening is expected today, and Nicole is forecast to become a hurricane near the northwestern Bahamas and remain a hurricane when it reaches the east coast of Florida tonight” forecasters predict. President Biden signed an emergency declaration for Florida which will release federal assistance for crisis response in 45 counties.
