Late Tuesday evening of Election Day projections came from Fox News Decision Desk that incumbent Republican Gov. Brian Kemp defeated opponent Democrat Stacey Abrams. The midterm race between the two was a rematch of the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election where Kemp beat Abrams by a tight margin. In the 2022 election, Kemp focused on the issue of crime, saying, “We’ve been making sure our capital city’s safe.” He denounced Abrams for her support of the defund the police movement.
