Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) overtook his challenger Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL) in Tuesday’s race by over 1.5 million votes, with 59.4 percent of the vote to Crist’s 40 percent as of Wednesday morning. Compared to 2018, DeSantis eked out a victory by only 32,463 votes over Democrat Andrew Gillum. More notably for this election, some traditionally blue counties turned red—Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Hillsborough, Osceola, and Pinellas.
