The Russian Defense Ministry said Russia is resuming the grain export deal with Ukraine after obtaining “sufficient” assurances that Kyiv will demilitarize the passageway for the ships. Russian President Vladimir Putin asked for “real guarantees” of a safe port from Ukraine before restarting the deal. The ministry obtained written guarantees and said Kyiv confirmed “the nonuse of the humanitarian corridor and Ukrainian ports defined in the interests of the export of agricultural products for conducting military operations against the Russian Federation.”
