Three former Afghan army generals are claiming that Russia is actively recruiting Afghan commandos trained by the U.S. for its war with Ukraine.  Many of the commandos fled with their families to Iran after the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan last year. Russia is reportedly offering $1500 per month plus safety for their families for those willing to fight.  Unofficial estimates suggest that at least 400 commandos are actively considering the offer, with some having already accepted.
