U.S., Japan, South Korea Warn of ‘Decisive’ Response if North Korea Conducts Nuclear Test

As North Korea is believed to prepare for a nuclear test, officials from the United States, Japan and South Korea warned Wednesday that their collective response would be “decisive” if North Korea conducts its seventh nuclear test. “South Korea and the U.S. will step up their extended deterrence by utilizing all the elements of the national power and show an overwhelming, decisive response to any use of a nuclear weapon by North Korea” Cho Hyundong, South Korea’s First Vice Foreign Minister, said in a joint news conference with his U.S. and Japanese counterparts.
