Russia on Monday fired multiple missiles on Ukraine’s major cities including downtown Kyiv, targeting civilians. According to Ukraine’s Emergency Service, at least 11 people were killed and 64 people were injured from the strikes across Ukraine, and four of the country’s regions—the Lviv, the Poltava, the Sumy and the Ternopil region—completely lost power. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the strikes were launched as revenge for what he called Kyiv’s “terrorist act” on the bridge connecting Russia to its annexed Crimea over the weekend.
