CCP “Overseas Police Service Station” Outpost in NYC

Objectivity 4.6 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.8

As part of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) global transnational repression, outposts called “overseas police service stations” are being opened by Chinese authorities in the U.S. and other countries.  New York City is among the “first batch” of 30 overseas stations.  According to a report by Spain-based group Safeguard Defenders, “These operations eschew official bilateral police and judicial cooperation and violate the international rule of law, and may violate the territorial integrity in third countries involved in setting up a parallel policing mechanism using illegal methods.”
