Hurricane Ian Ready to Make Landfall in South Carolina

A revived Hurricane Ian, now a Category 1 storm, is set to make landfall near Charleston in the South Carolina coast Friday afternoon, after causing catastrophic damage in Florida. The storm, containing maximum sustained winds of 85 mph, is expected to cause a “life-threatening” storm surge of 4 to 7 feet into coastal areas of the Carolinas with ferocious winds and rainfall. The center of the storm is forecast to pass through eastern South Carolina and central North Carolina Friday night and on Saturday.
