Florida Governor Calls Hurricane Ian a “500-Year Event”

Objectivity 4.8 | Credibility 4.8| Relevance 4.9

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is characterizing the passage of Hurricane Ian over Florida a “500-year event” as the extent of the damage is still being assessed.  Hundreds are feared dead in hard-hit Lee County, Charlotte County, and other areas.  Damage from winds, rain and flooding is extensive as National Guard, Coast Guard and other first responders are attempting to find those unable to evacuate. “Those who are in need of life support right now: Help is on the way,” Desantis has said.
