Russian gas pipelines Nord Stream 1 and 2 are believed to have been sabotaged after leaks were discovered in the pipelines following undersea explosions detected by seismic stations in Sweden, Norway, and Finland. The director of Sweden’s National Seismic Network says that the detections were “not an earthquake.” While no official cause of the leaks has yet been determined, some European leaders are already calling it “an act of sabotage.”  The incident comes amidst increasing tensions due to Europe’s energy embargo of Russia stemming from Russia’s war with Ukraine.
