Cuba Legalizes Same-sex Marriage

Objectivity 4.7 | Credibility 4.6 | Relevance 4.7

Cubans have voted to legalize same-sex marriage, part of a new family code in a national referendum on Sunday. Around two-thirds of the voters supported the code, which will also permit surrogate pregnancies and allow gay couples to adopt children. However, there has been strong opposition against the code from the growing evangelical movement and social conservatism in Cuba, concerned that it could cripple nuclear families.
