Deal Signed to Prevent Major Railway Strike

Objectivity 4.7 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.7

A potential railroad strike was averted by a final agreement between the Presidential Emergency Board and 12 railroad unions. A major strike in the railroad system would have caused more than $2 billion in damages across the country per day. The terms reached gave the workers a raise in salary, an additional paid vacation day, and lower insurance premiums. By the year 2025, the average railway worker’s yearly salary will reach up to $110,000.
