Israel, Turkey To Resume Normal Diplomatic Relations

Objectivity 4.8 | Credibility 4.8| Relevance 4.6

Israel and Turkey have announced they will resume normal diplomatic relations after more than a decade of decline. Relations between the two countries soured due to Turkey’s stance on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Turkey has also hosted leaders of Hamas. Turkey recalled its ambassador to Israel in 2018 in protest when President Trump moved the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. Israel responded in kind. Under the new agreement, ambassadors and consulate generals will be reinstated.
