House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to visit Taiwan with her delegation despite warnings from China and against the advice of the Biden administration. Department of Defense officials will be working to monitor Chinese movements in the region and secure a plan for the speaker’s safe travel, a U.S. official told CNN. John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the National Security Council, stated, “It is very much in keeping with our policy. It is consistent with our support to Taiwan under the Taiwan Relations Act.”
