Virginia’s Fairfax County school board is set to vote on whether malicious misgendering could be considered an insult worthy of suspension. The new rule book defines misgendering as “the act of labelling others with a gender that does not match their gender identity — deliberately or accidentally.” The handbook categorizes misgendering as a level 4 violation, punishable with up to 5 days of suspension. The school board is set to vote on May 26 on this issue.
