According to the Chicago Tribune, a 15-year-old student at the Latin School of Chicago committed suicide in January over severe bullying by fellow students. One student at the school spread a false rumor that the boy was unvaccinated. This allegedly led to the boy being harassed by other students, a teacher, and cyber-bullied on social media. The victim’s parents accused administrators at the school of “willful failure” to do anything about the bullying, even though they received numerous complaints from the boy and his family.
