U.S. Supreme Court Will Hear Cases Against Affirmative Action

Objectivity 3.5 | Credibility 4.7 | Relevance 4.8

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear cases challenging race-based affirmative action policies at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina. Both colleges have been sued over apparent discrimination against Asian and white Americans. The Court will decide if the policies violate civil rights laws. In 2012, Justice Thomas said affirmative action hurts all Americans, including the minorities the policies are intending to help.
