Senate Democrats failed to change the legislative filibuster for a voting bill after Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) voted with Republicans. Senators voted 52-48 to block the filibuster change, which would have suspended the 60-vote rule for the election legislation. Before the vote, Biden visited Georgia to encourage Democrats to approve voting rights legislation but after failing to change the process, Biden expressed that he was profoundly disappointed with the Senate.
