Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) raised questions about potential FBI involvement in the Capitol Hill riot on January 6, 2021. “Did any FBI agents or confidential informants actively participate in the events of January 6th?” Cruz asked. The FBI official deflected every question he asked. One year after the Capitol breach more than 700 people have been arrested. Some were charged with misdemeanors while others were not although video gives evidence that some key individuals, who actively worked to convince protesters to breach the Capitol, have not been charged.
