Since the swift withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan in August, Afghan women remain victims of the Taliban’s unjust suppression of human rights. Their Ministry of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice issued the latest rule restricting women in travel. Without restraints, women’s rights will continue to regress, like in the 1990s when women were barred from education and the workplace. Human Rights Watch said the new restriction moved further towards making women prisoners.
