A South Korean human rights group released a document that reports seven North Koreans have been publicly executed, in the last decade, for engaging with South Korean pop culture entertainment. The New York Times previously reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had called K-pop vicious cancer that corrupts young North Koreans’ attire, hairstyles, speeches, and behaviors. If nothing was done to stop it, North Korea would “crumble like a damp wall.â€
