Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg says the new name reflects plans for the organization to design and build the metaverse. The company’s various apps and technologies include Instagram and Oculus virtual reality headsets, will now fall under the new brand. Zuckerberg says the metaverse, which consists of multiple technologies such as virtual and augmented reality hardware, will enable people to virtually attend concerts or visit family in their living room.
