Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter publically declared Chinese President Xi Jinping as a “brutal dictator.” The next day China wiped future Celtic games from the schedule as well as past replays. The Turkish NBA player is an outspoken progressive activist who shared a two-minute video on social media voicing his support for Tibetan independence. He openly supports the Tibetan people’s right to exercise religious freedom. He stated, “Under the Chinese government’s brutal rule, Tibetan people’s basic rights and freedoms are nonexistent.”
