Manchin and Sanders Still Disagree on Biden Spending Plan

Objectivity 4.5 | Credibility 4.6 | Relevance 4.7

Democrats must have the support of Senators Manchin and Sinema to pass the highly debated increased social spending package and infrastructure deal. Bernie Sanders met with Manchin to persuade a change in Manchin’s position. Sanders openly rebuked Manchin in an op-ed in a West Virginia newspaper. His charge, Manchin stood in opposition to a Bill that would supposedly help West Virginians.

The Senators oppose adding $3.5 trillion in spending to the economy. The two Senators also clashed with specific agendas embedded in the package.
