Cargo Ships Pile Up at LA Ports During the Weekend Despite Biden’s Efforts

Cargo ships continue to pile along California coastlines, although Biden approved an extension for ports to work extra time amidst the supply line crisis. Waterfront labor negotiator, Jim Tessier, explained how most shipping companies avoid working during weekends because of the extra spending. Most are foreign and benefit from longstanding contracts. Tessier said they “…did not attend Biden’s briefing and don’t care about what he or the landlord think.”
