Nine schools in the North Ayrshire council of Scotland began scanning the faces of the young pupils on Monday. The facial recognition system is being implemented and promoted as more Covid-secure. The claim is that the system helps process payments for faster lunch line queues.

Supposedly sixty-five schools throughout the UK have signed up to have the system installed in their schools. During the Covid crisis, facial recognition and other Orwellian systems, such as vaccine passports, have increasingly become the norm in British life.
